Naruto 519 Review

I hope you will enjoy the review.
We are at the beginning of the 4th Great Shinobi World War. Even if this is shounen manga, the idea of a world war implies death and tragedy.

The chapter's title points us towards an entirely different direction. When we see Bijuu, we will definitely think: Naruto. So that means that the main focus of this chapter will be the actual main character.
From the looks of it, he might try to learn how to execute the Tailed Beast Bomb, or how readers call it Bijuu Blast. We've seen this move a few times, but the most detailed scene was when Naruto fought Orochimaru. We've seen Naruto, or Kyuubi releasing a huge amount of chakra(black and white), then compress it into a sphere and shoot it from the mouth. It was a devastating technique, a mass of pure chakra, which later Kakashi called Shape Manipulation.

But the beginning of the chapter, acts as the conclusion of the first skirmish of the war.

And this time it's Sasori's time to go. We have seen Sasori performing at his best, so as I have said in my previous review or previous posts, the main idea for having these people have their personalities is to serve as character development for the more important people of the support cast, in this case Kankuro.
I think this time the emotions were transmitted better, then with Shin. We have more panels of Sasori disintegrating, and even while at it, he still has things to say to Kankuro.

The main idea, or message in Sasori's death can be related to another important theme, that was introduced back in Part 1, and it was reformulated countless time since: to take care of the next generation, take care of the future of the village.
It starts with Kankuro explaining Sasori that controlling his real body means that he has lost as a puppeteer. Personally I thought last chapter, that Kankuro was thinking about Kabuto(pretty silly considering Sasori had his personality), but it turns out that he was thinking about himself. The moment Sasori became his puppet, he was no longer a puppeteer thus lost to him.

But the more outlined meaning of Kankuro's speech is the other interpretation of Sasori's form of art. Eternity in art means that the emotions that one have put in his creations will be transmitted to the next generation. He mentions the emotions that are put into a puppet, and considering that Sasori's first puppets were his parents, then we can see that the emotions are there. He also mentions the performance of the next generation another element in reaching eternity in creation. So by controlling Sasori's main creation, himself, it means that Kankuro is sure that he is a worthy successor of the legacy Sasori left behind.

Surprisingly enough Sasori accepts this, which is the trigger for unbinding his soul from Edo Tensei. In the end he refused to fight, and he acknowledged Kankuro as well. The reason why I'm saying surprising, because the influence of emotion wasn't something Sasori didn't consider when he took his own path to immortality. His conviction was that emotions weakens the shinobi, it brings hesitation, which is very detrimental. Kankuro's point of view on the other hand involves a lot of emotion, but not something frail. The thought for the next generation and the emotions put into creation helps people to strengthen themselves, thus eliminating that hesitation Sasori talked about.

This how Sasori strengthened his conviction in his art, and managed to free himself from Kabuto's grasp. In the end, by choosing emotions, Sasori was more artist, then shinobi. RIP.

But the war is not over. This was only the first fight, and Deidara has been captured, and Chuukichi is lurking somewhere to crush enemies. This way the focus on the ambush squad is maintained, and by having two enemies that can actually disturb they actions, the following events will be very interesting, since Kankuro and co. are marching directly towards the enemy, in order to ambush them. So that's why at some point in time they might found themselves pretty outnumbered, and maybe even outclassed.
The reason I mention outclassed is because we are witnessing a short conversation between the masterminds of the enemy side. Kabuto offers Madara to head towards the battlefield as he stays behind to concentrate on his jutsu. But Madara is not a fool and he quickly realizes that Kabuto led Anko to the hideout, but in the end he still claims that he is using him.
Nobody expected less from Madara, he is confident in his in abilities of manipulating others. But how will this play out? Let's assume that Madara will head out. Kabuto will remain at the hideout and he can have all the research materials he needs, he can interfere with Madara's ultimate goal as well, he might even try to take out the blind Sasuke. Maybe that's what Madara is hoping for? To match up Sasuke against Kabuto so that Sasuke would test his new eyes? I'm also wondering what Kabuto's plans are back there at the hideout, so I will ask you dear readers to share your thoughts about this. The mystery it's really at its peak, so it would be cool if anyone would actually crack the secret, before it's revealed.

Another important element in this first part of the chapter is the conclusion about Edo Tensei. Unfortunately this conclusion doesn't serve Kankuro very well, because they have limited knowledge about the jutsu. They have only encountered the zombies who had their personalities intact, so by defeating them, they arrived at the obvious conclusion that emotions are very hard to restrain. But the important question is if they arrived at this conclusion, why didn't Kabuto take the necessary measures to avoid such situations, because he is the user of the jutsu.

It's a really interesting progression of the war, though it kind of slowed down this chapter, but we had some character development going on, so it is a balanced, good chapter.

But the second part is where the party starts. We have Naruto on stage, and I think there's nothing better than having him as main character of a chapter. Bee is also great, but I think the most important thing is that they are in the middle of training, a very important one, and probably the last. As we've seen in the title, Naruto is on route to Bijuu Blast, but we've only seen fully transformed Jinchuurikis do that.

That's what I'm talking about. Fully transformed Jinchuuriki FTW. I'm not really into cute little cudly foxes, but I found this scene very funny, and which was better, it seemed like a little tribute to the early, prehistoric beginning of Naruto's story.

I also found the construction of the scenes that led to this panel very ingenious. First we have Bee introducing the last step of the training. To learn the most powerful move a Jinchuuriki can do. And the first step to achieve it is to fully transform into the Bijuu. Until now it's all cool, but Naruto expresses his concerns about this whole transformation thing. So he was worried, and frankly I was a bit worried as well, because I kind of expected Naruto to have some sort of agreement with Kyuubi first, then proceed to this whole transformation thingy. And even if Bee calmed down Naruto, the tension was rising, and Naruto began to transform, he even showed signs of chakra bubbles, which is Kyuubi's trademark, and then.

That's why I think this was one of the most funny scenes in a long time. Of course funny faces, and good ol' stupid Naruto can be fun from time to time, but this...oh man.

But as serious members that we are, we should take a look at the what that meant, and how will it influence Naruto's future...but that was funny as hell.

Ok, so actually what that meant is related to my reason of concern earlier, and that is the non-friendly relationship Naruto and Kyuubi is having. It's the conclusion of Bee, so it's official, Naruto will have to tame Kyuubi in order to fully use its power. What more, the chakra Naruto managed to steal from Kyuubi is limited, so basically Naruto as awesome as he may have been in that fight, didn't really manage to get Kyuubi's entire power.
Interestingly enough, this doesn't mean that Kyuubi has actually no say in the matter, and that he is completely sealed away behind those fancy bars.

The actual mechanism or let's say relationship between the Jinchuuriki and the Bijuu is described by Hachibi and it's like this. When the user is in basic, version 1 tailed mode, the chakra that is in use is the chakra of the bijuu. But this is an even trade. As the Jinchuuriki is permitted to use the Bijuu's chakra, the same goes for the Bijuu, who can use it's hosts chakra and consume it, making it its own, whatever. So that's why staying long enough in that mode, or even making Kage Bunshins is forbidden, because it's too risky.

The reason why Bee can stay in that mode and even switch between version is that Bee and Hachibi have a chakra deal. Bee managed to tame his beast, therefore he also succeeded in having a talk with the beast and reaching an agreement. The agreement is most likely a limit, maybe a percentage of the amount of chakra each party can use during a transformation. That seems fair, but it also seems impossible in Naruto's case. That's why the first step towards Bijuu Blast is already a failure, that's why Hachibi tells Naruto that he must use this transformation to further enhance or hone his own skills. Surprisingly Naruto understood everything from this explanation. I know this wasn't something hard to understand, but Naruto managed to follow the entire train of thought, and as a curious person that he is, he asks about Bijuu Bomb.

Notice that the fun we had earlier is already gone, we're stepping further into serious explanations, life threatening jutsus. This Bijuu Bomb is also something that's no joke either. Naruto recognizes the jutsu from Hachibi's description, as he had seen it when he fought Kyuubi. It's really powerful, and its shot from the mouth, but because it's a pure chakra blast, it meanst that the Bijuu is firing out something that's part of him, through his mouth, so it feels like vomiting.

I know I mentioned that Bijuu Bomb is no joke, but actually Naruto can turn anything into that. He is the type of guy who catches up on the easy to understand analogies, which are present in the ordinary life. That's why he only understood Pa's natural energy explanation, when Gamakichi used the icecream analogy for example. This situation is similar. The moment he heard that firing this blast is like vomiting, well guess what
What he didn't know, that when performing a blast of any kind through the mouth, there's always the need of pressure. When Fugaku taught Sasuke, he told him to gather as much chakra as he can, compress it and let it go in an instant.

So I considering Hachibi's description, and the actual description of a blast, I would compare the Bijuu Bomb to vomiting while being drunk. When someone drinks a lot, there's a lot of pressure building up in the stomach, so when the final drop of alcohol arrives the scene and it breaks the balance of food and alcohol, then the pressure goes wild, much like a Bijuu Bomb

So there's no need to exercise Bijuu Bomb, that's why Bee came back, and it has been decided to try Rasengan in Bijuu Mode. He also told Naruto not to worry about his inability to do Kage Bunshin. The mental image of the chakra around him, enables Naruto to use every bit of that chakra like he wants. He can transform his chakra into hands for example and use that to form the Rasengan.

This ability is a very versatile one. Naruto can grow multiple limbs for example, stretch them, and in the same time to make the Rasengan, and scratch his own back. The instant I read this part, I though that even if the Bijuu Bomb is compressed at first, after it's swallowed it should blow up, but the mental image of the ball remaining compressed inside enables the user the release it. So my mind went further, and after the manga mentioned vomiting, I thought I add an extra to it...now imagine that Naruto is forming the mental image of a Bijuu Bomb while something like this is happening, remembering that only a mental image is required, and the chakra can be manipulated all over the body.

Predictions/Want to happen

I'm very sure that we won't see Naruto next week. Maybe 1 or 2 little scenes with him perfecting the new technique, but not anything relevant. Therefore the focus should be on the war, and I think it will be. Personally I don't really care which side, but I'm also pretty certain that there will be no confrontations. Kankuro needs to plan the ambush, Madara is still yet to head out, so I think the most we could get as action would be the cliffhangers. That's just the war I see it, though, and almost every time Kishi does something else, which is good though, because I'm caught by surprise, positive or negative(well at least it's not predictable

Please feel free to post outrageous stuff. Opinions of the review and the chapter are welcome

Will Usopp go home a brave sea warrior and marry his princess?

Will Nami publish her map of the entire world?

Will Sanji start a new sea resturant and invent the magnicifigent yoghurt?

Will Zoro become a restless warrior like Mihawk? Sailing the ocean alone constantly awaiting new challenges?

Will Robin find peace and start a school or university?

Will Brook start living on the little island inside of the big whale?

Will Chopper find himself a female human that has eaten the Raindeer Raindeer fruit?!

Will Franky become so super his superness will be superwritten in to the superbooks of awesomeness for all eternity of super? Or will he just grab a coke and chill on the beach?

Whats your theory? How will the story end?

Kabuto's army

So...
It seems that Kabuto is making is whole army of great Shinobi...

The kind of conversation we can have here:
- Who else will Kabuto summon?
- Will someone get free, and who?
- What could be the match-ups?
- etc.

----------------

So far, here's the army we know of:

5

Akatsuki

- Deidera
- Sasori
- Kakuzu
- Itachi
- Nagato

6

former Jinchuriki

- Yugito Nii (2-tails)
- Yagura (3-tails)
- Roshi (4-tails)
- Han (5-tails)
- Utakata (6-tails)
- Fuu (7-tails)

3

former Kages

- Sandaime Raikage (Ee & Killerbee's father)
- Yondaime Kazekage (Gaara's father)
- Unknown Kage*

*Most likely from the Rock, since Kabuto already has one of each of the other country, except the Fire

-

Great Shinobi

From the Leaf:
- Hizachi Hyugga (Neji's father)
- Dan (Tsunade boyfriend)
- Asuma

From the Mist:
- Zabuza
- Haku

From elsewhere
- Chiyo (Sand)
- Hanzo (Rain)
- Kimmimaro (Sound)

So, in my opinion, who else are we likely to see brought back to life?

From the Leaf:

Surely we will see those ones:
- Jiraiya
- Sakumo (Kakashi's father)
- Danzou

It would also be nice to see those ones:
- Shusui Uchiha (He's been so hyped that we simply NEED to see him)
- Torune & Fuu (If they are dead... it would be a waste not to see them again)
- Nawaki (If Dan is not enough, her brother would certainly throw Tsunade off)
- Kushina
- Sasuke Sarotobi (Sandaime's father)
- Obito and Rin (That would surely throw off Kakashi)
- Sasuke's parents (Only if Kabuto wants to fight against Sasuke)
- Chiruku (Asuma's friend, the monk)

From the Sand:
For sure:
- Sandaime Mizukage (the one with the metal dust jutsu)

Maybe:
- Yashamaru (Gaara's uncle whom he killed when he was young, if he wants to throw Gaara off)

From the Rock:
- ...

From the Mist:
- All of the previous swordman of the mist, including:
- Kisame
- Suigetsu's brother

From the Cloud:
- Motoi's father

From elsewhere:
- Konan

And of course, there are still plenty of dead Kages available...

Possible Reasons you don't wanna die in One Piece!

Now when I talk about death in One Piece, I have to also list many things that should lead to death but never do. In fact it takes some serious wounds to die in One Piece, and even then you don't die instantly.

Reason #1 - We've seen Kizaru knock people into walls at the speed of light and cause explosions on contact. The person didn't die he just was in agonizing pain. We've seen the worse case scenarios of impossible survival and no matter what kind of pain you have to endure, Oda won't let these people die.

=======================================
10 Situations I'd choose death over Survival in One Piece:
=======================================

1 - Spandam vs. Robin, If I were him, I would have wanted to die instantly

2 - A Kizaru kick, I'd have rather been splattered and died instantly then to have to go through the after effects of that Kick

3 - WB's 10th Division Commander, He survived a full body hit by Akainu. There are so many reasons why I would not want to survive that

4 - Luffy surviving the poison, and then Iva's healing hormones - just hell no.

5 - Lucci surviving the JET Gattling, if you saw it, then yea, you know what I mean

6 - Taking Eneru's lightning without rubber abilities

7 - Zoro taking Luffy's pain, I'd cry like a little b*tch for 182 days straight

8 - Robin vs. Franky's Balls... Not as serious as the others, but I'd want to die still

9 - Usopp getting hit by Mr. 4's 4-Ton Hammer and simultaneously getting my skull cracked and launched several stories into the air and coming down to land on my nose. I don't see why people think Usopp can't take a hit, lol

10 - By working for Gedatsu... If you are dumb enough to work for him all I can say is " HOW CARELESS!!! "

=============================================

The only "Confirmed" Deaths we have in One Piece (Not Counting Non Relevant Fodder) are Ace and WB and even so, their deaths were horrendous and things I wouldn't wish on my worse enemy's greatest nightmare.

Ace - Charred Arm From Akainu's Magma, And then a hole that "Burnt up all his insides" -- The fact that he dies from this isn't the scary part, the fact that he died a couple of MINUTES after this is horrifying. Can you imagine that pain all the way up to your death. *Shudders*

And everybody knows all the damage WB had to take to die. I'll leave it to one of you guys to quote it exactly, but it is actually very horrible to think about. Not to mention half his face was ripped/burnt off, and the fact that BB got intimate with his dead body under cover is just wrong. But he wanted that forbidden fruit

=============================================

So with what all it takes just to pass away in the One Piece world, would you wanna die there. Would you even wanna get hurt there. Maybe the rapper 50 Cent would fit right in, besides Eminem's already here (Eneru)

Okay, I'd like some feed back on my little fun post right here, if you can call it fun.

Edo Tensei can be 'ended' by the souls coming to peace?

To speak frankly, I think how Sai's resurrected brother, Shin, was 'defeated' was pretty lame. His soul got some sort of closure from seeing that Sai finished the infamous 'I have bonds too!" book....and then Edo tensei ended???? Lame.

Granted, we have very little info about Edo Tensei as a whole...so I won't be able to completely defend that it doesn't make sense......but it doesn't make sense to me and here's why...

I don't understand how the soul itself that is resurrected could have any bearing on the technique itself that the user performs [Kabuto in this case]. If Kabuto is the one binding the soul to the living world, then how can the soul itself release that 'binding'. Now, I would be much more understanding if Shin did a sealing tech (or anti-sealing tech) or any technique for that matter (ninjutsu, genjutsu), but alls he did was reach peace and then his soul was not bound. That brings up the assumption that anyone who is resurrected is not at peace....while that is possible, it is not very probable.

It's just a weird situation now that it's happened. Could it be prevented if Kabuto takes 'full control' of the zombies so they don't have a personality to reach closure??? What about people who died 'in peace'??? Did all of the people that Kabuto resurrected not have any sort of peace or closure when they died? Did all of them die unexpectedly in battle? Didn't any of them die from natural causes where they could have reached peace on their own? What about if they did die in battle, but reached peace before they died (like Jiraiya).

So now with all the rest of the zombie battles are we gonna have to see a bunch of sappy "closure" speeches and all the zombies reaching 'peace'??? I could handle that for a couple zombies, but all of them...yuck! That's gonna be a lot of sappy speeches in addition to all of Naruto's sappiness that will have to come up to 'bring peace to the ninja world'.

I just think this is a cheesy way to deal with the 'undefeatable' zombies that we thought would bring cool revelations and cool techniques to seal them....not sappy words and speeches (like the one Kankuro is having with Sasori).

Am I the only one that thinks this is gonna be superbly lame if all teh zombies are going to be defeated in this manor? I shouldn't jump to conclusions, but I'll be disappointed if all these bad-ass zombies are defeated by hugs-no-jutsu.
